Job Title

• Tech - X-ray/Radiologic Technologist

• Full-time, 13-week contract, day shift, onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays using portable and stationary equipment
• Collaborate with healthcare team and communicate effectively for patient care
• Maintain documentation in electronic medical records, including EPIC and Carestream systems
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain compliance with facility policies
• Provide coverage for one 8-hour call shift every two weeks, with availability during weekdays and weekends in various time slots
• Float within the scope of practice as needed within the facility

Required Qualifications

• Active ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology
• Valid Virginia state license (or eligible with pending license; must have license prior to start date)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred, Carestream portable machine familiarity a plus
• Ability to work a 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday
• Willingness to cover scheduled call shifts and float within scope

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred (for applicable roles)
• Experience with hospital-based radiology procedures and electronic charting systems
• Knowledge of VA healthcare regulations and travel compliance policies

Travel & Certification Notes

• RTO requests are limited to 40 hours per 13-week contract; must be confirmed at time of submission
• Candidates must verify licensure in-hand by the start date; pending licenses accepted but should be in place before start
• Travel restrictions apply for certain units within a 50-mile radius; local candidates accepted for some units
• Completion of required modules during orientation, with up to 16 hours of non-billable time

• Experience with Epic EMR system is required unless noted otherwise
• Float within scope is expected; background checks may be required depending on the unit
• Previous employment with University of Virginia Health System as internal or external traveler may require specific policies to be followed
