Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and develop therapeutic plans to enhance residents’ functional abilities and independence in daily activities.
- Provide ADL training including assistance with bathing, dressing, oral care, and hair care.
- Assist residents with mobility, ambulation, transfers, and positioning, utilizing proper body mechanics and equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with residents, caregivers, and the healthcare team to develop and modify treatment plans; document all interactions thoroughly in EMR.
- Recommend and instruct residents on assistive device use; educate residents and caregivers; ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
- Supervise and mentor assistant-level staff, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and professional standards.
- Maintain department cleanliness, follow infection control procedures, and ensure all licenses and certifications are up to date.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s or Doctorate preferred.
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
