Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room setting for various surgical procedures
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases
• Assist surgical teams with instrumentation, sterilization, and equipment setup
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and hospital protocols during surgeries
• Document patient information, surgical details, and procedures accurately in electronic health records
• Participate in on-call rotation requiring weekend and weeknight availability, including holiday shifts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an operating room environment
• Current BLS, NIH, and PALS certifications
• Valid state licensure (TN license or Compact license)
• Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 12 months, with competency exam clearance
• Experience with surgery cases such as C-sections, hernia repairs, laparoscopic procedures, and small orthopedic surgeries
• Familiarity with surgical equipment including Bovie devices and laparoscopic towers
• Knowledge of sponge tracking systems (e.g., Stryker Surgicount)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PACU experience preferred
• Previous experience with a variety of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Ability to adapt to floating and varying patient care needs
