Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgical team by preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical operations.
- Follow sterilization and cleansing procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
- Support surgeons in the operating room, ensuring all supplies and equipment are available and properly handled.
- Adhere to universal precautions and safety protocols to minimize exposure to infectious materials.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from a Surgical Technology program preferred.
- BLS certification from AHA.
- Surgical Tech certification required.
- Knowledge of instrument care, sterilization procedures, and OR protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- One or more years of experience in an acute care hospital OR or instrument care environment.
- Knowledge of bloodborne pathogen safety standards and OSHA compliance.
