Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction within an elementary self-contained “Functional Skills” program.
- Manage a caseload of students in grades 3-5, supporting their academic and functional development.
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt curricula to meet student needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to functional skill development.
Required Qualifications
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary-age students in a self-contained setting.
- Familiarity with Functional Skills curricula and strategies.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized plans for students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a similar elementary self-contained program.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and adaptive teaching strategies.
