Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-acuity nursing care in a busy Labor and Delivery unit with a high volume of cases.
  • Circulate during deliveries, supporting obstetric and neonatal care, including assessments and procedures such as eye care, thigh injections, and newborn assessments.
  • Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, continuing newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
  • Support patients with diverse diagnoses, including high-risk pregnancies, postpartum, antepartum, and substance recovery clients.
  • Utilize electronic fetal monitoring systems and adhere to AWHONN guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with 4 ORs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid and active Compact or Washington state RN license.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of RN experience in high-acuity, high-risk Labor and Delivery environments.
  • Current BLS, NRP, and proof of required certifications.
  • Proven experience with electronic fetal monitoring (EPIC system knowledge is a plus).
  • Recent supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years.
  • Ability to circulate, provide newborn assessments, and perform procedures including eye care, thigh injections, and assessments.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • 5+ years of high-risk obstetric experience.
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS, AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced obstetric setting supporting diverse patient populations.

Additional Notes
This role requires the ability to float to related units such as postpartum and antepartum, including support for community care clinics and substance recovery services. Candidates must be prepared for full compliance screening within 72 hours of offer acceptance and have reliable transportation. This position involves working every other weekend and holidays as needed.
