Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a busy high-risk Labor and Delivery unit.
  • Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, including newborn assessments, eye care, and administering injections such as vitamins K and involves.
  • Support patients with maternal and fetal monitoring, including electronic fetal monitoring and postpartum care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety and efficient workflow in a high-acuity environment.
  • Float as needed to related units such as postpartum or antepartum, supporting various patient care needs.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and standards, including necessary documentation and certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid WA RN license or compact license.
  • Current BLS, NRP certifications.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of recent experience in high-acuity, high-risk Labor and Delivery environments.
  • Proven experience with electronic fetal monitoring and neonatal care, including vitals, assessments, and initial newborn procedures.
  • Ability to circulate during deliveries and provide newborn care, including eye checks and injection administration.
  • Current supervisor references covering at least one year within the last three years.
  • Proof of required certifications and licensure at the time of submission.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and Intermediate certifications.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume Labor and Delivery units supporting midwifery, OB clients, or community clinics.
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records system.
  • Experience floating between units like postpartum or antepartum, supporting various maternal care needs.

Shift Details

  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30).

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and reside within 50 miles of the facility, or provide proof of local address for consideration of other opportunities.
  • Must complete all compliance requirements within 72 hours of offer acceptance, including physicals, background checks, and mandatory training modules.

Travel and Compliance Notes

  • Travel candidates must meet specific pre-employment screening and certification proof requirements.
  • Candidates from other jurisdictions with active licenses are eligible for travel contracts if separated for at least 3 months; active compact license holders at Swedish facilities are also eligible.
