Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive patient status.
- Implement patient care plans accurately and consistently, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care needs, readiness, and health management.
- Document patient information thoroughly in electronic medical records and paper processes as required.
- Supervise and delegate patient care activities to team members effectively, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when needed, including coordinating staffing, managing patient assignments, and facilitating unit operations.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and participation in seminars and workshops.
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with team members, physicians, patients, and families to support a collaborative care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid and active Washington State RN license.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent) within 30 days of hire.
- Preferred experience in acute care or labor and delivery settings.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for Mother Baby Unit RNs.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Fetal monitoring certification such as AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
- Additional specialty certifications such as RN-C in labor and delivery preferred.

Work Environment
This position reports to the Nursing Department leadership and works closely with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes.
