Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, full-time, contract
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide bedside nursing care to patients in intermediate care or stepdown units, including telemetry and neuro patient management
  • Monitor and manage patient drips, including neuro medications and sedation protocols
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in electronic health records
  • Float within units or to affiliated hospitals as needed, following facility protocols
  • Support unit charge responsibilities as trained, including coverage during operational needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Indiana (or eligible for licensure)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in telemetry, neuro, or stepdown nursing
  • ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficient in neuro patient care and management of drip medications
  • Ability to work flexible weekends, with a requirement to work 50% of scheduled weekends
  • Must be flexible with floating requirements across care levels (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU)

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Conscious sedation experience
  • Level 1 Trauma experience
  • Previous experience in teaching hospital settings, including precepting or training students

  • Travel is contingent upon operational needs; travelers must be willing to work weekends and float across units

  • First-time travelers are accepted, and local candidates are not preferred for this role
  • Candidate must comply with all hospital policies, including holiday work and travel eligibility rules
