Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care to medical-surgical and oncology patients in a hospital setting.
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other IV medications safely.
- Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses such as sepsis, cancer, and other critical conditions.
- Assist with wound care, wound Vac management, and various specialized procedures.
- Float as needed to similar units or alternate care locations within the hospital.
- Comply with all safety protocols, including isolation precautions and airway management.
Required Qualifications
- Current NC or Compact nursing license.
- At least 2 years of recent inpatient medical-surgical experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an oncology setting or recent oncology-certified RN.
- Ability to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
- BLS certification required; Oncology Certification (OCN) preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC and medication systems like PYXIS.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CPI certification.
- Charge nurse or leadership experience.
- Experience with central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration.
- Ability to float within hospital or to nearby facilities as needed.
