Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: State College, PA
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days shifts, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with current standards from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).
• Assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics.
• Triage all incoming patients, prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs, and monitor patient flow within the department.
• Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available and in working order for emergency care.
• Document thorough nursing histories, ongoing assessments, interventions, and responses to care.
• Manage emergency and complications per hospital policies and ENA standards, including recognizing changes in patient condition and administering appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, health status, and discharge instructions, including ongoing discharge planning and referrals.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification, with renewals every two years, meeting American Heart Association standards.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• EPIC Computer Charting experience.
