Key Responsibilities
- Screen, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders.
- Provide professional consultation to interdisciplinary care teams to improve patient functional outcomes.
- Utilize specialized equipment and techniques, such as FEES and MBS, to assess and treat swallowing and communication issues.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Current Hawaii State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- ASHA certification.
- BLS/HCP CPR certification.
- Completion of a FEES course (or willing to complete within 6 months of hire).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least one year of experience in an acute care healthcare setting.
- Clinical experience with FEES and MBS procedures.
- Expertise in adult swallowing, communication, and cognitive evaluation and treatment.
