Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiogram studies, including Transthoracic, Transesophageal, Stress, and Pharmacological echocardiography, with accuracy and adherence to current standards.
- Conduct related cardiac diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, Holter monitor preparation and analysis, and cardiac stress tests.
- Operate mechanical devices like echocardiographs, stress systems, electrocardiographs, and Holter monitors to obtain high-quality diagnostic data.
- Accurately document and process all studies within hospital information systems, ensuring proper scheduling and billing.
- Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection, to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Provide clinical guidance and preceptorship to students from contracted educational programs.
- Perform pediatric and neonatal echocardiography following age-specific guidelines.
- Perform all other duties within the scope of cardiac sonography and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential.
- Successful completion of a certification program and/or at least two years of hands-on echocardiography experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Extensive hospital-based echocardiography experience.
- Proficiency in pediatric and neonatal echocardiography.
- Additional certifications in cardiovascular sonography.
