Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, rotating shifts, 80 hours per pay period, Monday-Friday with evening coverage; occasional weekend and holiday event coverage; PRN as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical care focused on injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for active individuals across various settings
- Cover athletic events and after-school activities at a contracted high school, ensuring injury prevention and management
- Perform injury evaluations, including collecting histories, physical assessments, diagnosing injuries, and developing treatment plans
- Assess, diagnose, and manage concussions, monitoring symptoms and supervising return-to-play progression
- Document evaluations, treatments, and treatments plans accurately and timely
- Conduct root cause analysis for injuries to inform preventative strategies
- Perform occupational health assessments, post-offer employment evaluations, and job-specific conditioning programs
- Assist in orthopedic clinical duties such as taking histories, scheduling surgeries, and patient education
- Coordinate coverage schedules for events and respond to emergent needs as they arise
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin
- Certification from the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
- Valid, current driver’s license
- BLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency in musculoskeletal examinations and concussion evaluations
- Knowledge of emergency care and occupational health practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with compassionate approach to patient care
