• Hours per shift: 9.5 hours (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch)
• Duration: 13 weeks (starting around March 2, 2026)

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate psychotherapeutic group activities for adult, child, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
• Complete activity therapy assessments, develop treatment plans for new patients, and document in medical records.
• Run approximately four therapeutic groups daily across various units.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and technicians to ensure staff-to-patient ratio compliance.
• Utilize electronic documentation systems, such as Cerner, and participate in scheduled patient sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., activity therapy, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, occupational therapy, expressive arts therapy).
• Certification or licensure in an appropriate area (e.g., NC Licensed Recreational Therapist, Registered Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Dance Movement Therapist, or similar).
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a mental health or hospital setting.
• Ability to run group therapy sessions and assess patient needs.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in inpatient mental health settings.
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems.
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches across diverse patient populations.
