Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Deliver all treatments following an established plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Record treatments provided and note patient progress in medical records accurately.
• Provide clinical support and education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust care as needed.
• Complete required documentation in compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Empathy and patience when working with patients.
• Physical stamina to assist with patient movement and exercises.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility (may be required by state).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with residents in a skilled nursing or similar healthcare setting.
