School Social Worker
Primary Purpose: The Social Worker provides direct and indirect social-emotional support services designed to improve students’ psychological functioning, school engagement, and academic success. This role partners with students, families, school staff, and community partners to set and monitor individualized goals, remove barriers to learning, and ensure compliant delivery of social-emotional services required by student plans (e.g., IEPs).

- Schedule: M-F - 8a-4p
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work or beyond.
- Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License (School Social Worker endorsement) (required).
- LCSW (preferred).
- School social work experience (preferred).
- Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Ability to work occasional after-school, evening, and weekend events.
- Knowledge of social work principles, ethics, and best practices.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities .
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Student Support & Counseling
- Provide individual and small group counseling to support social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Work with students to set goals and monitor progress toward social-emotional outcomes.
- Use formal and informal assessments (interviews, observations) to inform interventions and case planning.
- Implement crisis intervention, prevention, and safety protocols (e.g., risk assessment, child abuse reporting).
- Support students with IEP goals and social-emotional services.
- Ensure compliance with special education mandates and social-emotional services in student plans.
- Collect and maintain accurate documentation and data tracking systems.
- Assist with implementation of behavior plans, safety plans, and accommodations.
- Partner with special education and school leadership to align support plans.
- Consult with teachers, families, community agencies, and staff to address student needs.
- Advocate for students and families to access internal and external resources.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams (e.g., RTI/problem-solving teams, attendance teams).
- Lead or contribute to systems-level efforts to address barriers to attendance, engagement, and learning.
- Track and support efforts to improve attendance outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with families through communication, home visits, and school events.
- Facilitate connections to community services and providers.
- Support school-wide initiatives related to school culture, safety, diversity, and equity.
- Participate in school functions (meetings, conferences, events) including outside regular hours when required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, coaching, and reflection to continuously improve practice.
- Collaborate with staff across grade teams and departments.
- Use professional tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite) to manage documentation and communication.
- Support student and staff recruitment activities as needed.
