Key Responsibilities

  • Assess speech and language skills, articulation, voice, and fluency disorders in students using various assessment tools.
  • Review medical and case histories; schedule evaluations and determine intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to discuss students' speech or language disorders and progress.
  • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports including test results, diagnoses, and recommended therapy plans.
  • Provide speech therapy services to assigned students, document progress, and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Conduct speech/language classes and collaborate with educators to support student development.
  • Offer guidance to community schools and agencies on appropriate speech and language services.
  • Promote awareness and support for speech/language programs through presentations and community engagement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid licensure from the Georgia Licensing Board or eligible for certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective speech-language interventions.
