Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting.
• Monitor and assess patients with general chronic medical conditions.
• Float within the OSU organization as needed to accommodate staffing and unit needs.
• Utilize electronic documentation systems such as Epic for accurate record-keeping.
• Administer medications using Pyxis, Accudose, and Omnicell systems.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team using SBAR protocol.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Ohio nursing license or valid compact license.
• At least 2 years of recent RN experience in a progressive care, stepdown, or PCU setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Ability to complete state-mandated fingerprinting and credentialing processes promptly.
• Experience with Epic documentation and medication systems.
• Must be flexible to float and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Experience working in a hospital with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients and adapt to changing patient needs.
