• Full-time, night shifts (3x12 hours) per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to clinical needs efficiently.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
• Document patient information accurately using Cerner electronic charting system.
• Float within scope to ensure unit coverage and meet facility needs, including other ICUs or affiliate units as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois nursing license in hand.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of ICU or relevant nursing experience (additional experience may be considered depending on unit).
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend.
• Must have passed travel compliance requirements including SSN, DOB, and background clearance.
• Flexibility for RTO requests of up to 5 days; must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level I trauma or magnet hospital.
• Prior experience with Cerner charting system and hospital modules.
• Ability to float throughout hospital units confidently within scope.

Additional Details

• Shift hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM.
• Travel compliance and credentialing are critical; candidates must be prepared to complete all necessary onboarding in a timely manner.
• Must be located at least 50 miles from the facility unless a travel nurse.
• Certified in AHA and Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted.
• The hospital provides parking at no cost with a permit during orientation.
• Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays and be available for orientation day remotely.
