Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents with temporary or long-term disabilities to promote healing and restore function
• Provide direct physical therapy interventions following the plan of care established by a licensed Physical Therapist
• Record treatments provided and track patient progress in medical records
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy exercises and treatment plans
• Monitor patient response to interventions and adjust treatments as necessary
• Complete all required documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education)
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist
• Empathy and patience when working with patients
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises
• At least 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility (may be required by state regulations)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and documentation
