Key Responsibilities
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, and other complex interventions.
- Set up and operate fluoroscopy equipment, including Siemens systems, ensuring accurate imaging during procedures.
- Monitor patient vitals and environmental safety, recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias and responding promptly.
- Prepare access sites, perform EKG lead placement, and maintain sterile fields during procedures.
- Support the procedural team as a room circulator and scrub, utilizing vascular closure systems such as Perclose and StarClose.
- Maintain documentation using EPIC and McKesson systems; manage medication dispensing via Pyxis.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a diagnostic or interventional cardiac catheterization lab.
- Experience with cardiac procedures such as PCI, PTCA, IABP, Impella, TAVR, and Watchman device management.
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy equipment, particularly Siemens systems.
- Ability to respond to on-call requests within 30 minutes, including evenings and weekends.
- Active compact license valid in any non-Swedish facility (Swedish active license accepted).
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, including isolation precautions.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with optical coherence tomography (OCT), pulmonary artery line insertion, and transcatheter valve procedures (TAVI/TAVR).
- Familiarity with rapid response team procedures and advanced vascular closure techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
