Registered Nurse - Orthopedic

Location: Burlington, NC

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts (3x12 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care to orthopedic and medical surgical patients across a 29-bed unit, including adult through geriatric populations.
• Monitor telemetry and coordinate patient care for individuals undergoing procedures such as total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and kyphoplasties.
• Work as a Charge Nurse as needed, ensuring smooth unit operations and patient safety.
• Float to other Cone Health campuses as required.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, including completion of mandatory orientation modules and Pass/Fail EKG exams.
• Adhere to a schedule that includes every other weekend shift, with a focus on timeliness and accountability.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Valid RN license in hand.
• BLS certification.
• Experience as a Charge Nurse.
• EPIC electronic medical record system experience.
• Ability to pass the Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance.
• Education verified through a third-party process.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience working in orthopedic units specifically.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and float to different campuses.
• Familiarity with physical therapy integration within a hospital setting.
