Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterile processing functions within scope to support operating room and other hospital needs.
- Ensure proper sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments and sets.
- Maintain knowledge of sterilization principles, microbiology, and infection prevention practices.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Float within facility departments as needed to meet operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Certification in sterile processing (CRCST through HSPA or CBSPD).
- At least 2 years of experience as an educator and 3 years in sterile processing or operating room setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of instrument names, functions, and sterile processing processes.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced sterilization certifications (CIS, CER, CHL).
- Willingness to work a flexible block schedule with manager approval.
- Ability to float within scope to support various departments.
