Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures related to cardiology, including procedures in the Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) suite.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate lab equipment and instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to assist during cardiac procedures, providing support in sterile techniques and equipment setup.
  • Document and report procedure results accurately within the laboratory information system.
  • Adhere to quality control and safety protocols, including blood banking standards and infection control policies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new protocols and procedure updates as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or equivalent from an accredited certifying agency such as ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
  • Excellent transfusion service (blood banking) skills.
  • Knowledge of cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory and imaging equipment.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and laboratory safety.
  • Educational background in a biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience working in a cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology laboratory.
  • Familiarity with cardiovascular procedures and instrumentation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, clinical environment with a focus on precision.

  • Saturday through Monday, 6:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Additional Details

  • Position duration: 13 weeks with potential for extension.
  • Must have excellent transfusion service skills and experience in blood banking.
  • Certification must be current.
  • Start date: April 20, 2026.
  • End date: July 19, 2026.
