Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients in IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, including post-surgical, trauma, and complex medical patients.
• Administer medications, including epidural analgesia, PCA, and infusions; manage various drains, tubes, and wound vacs.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias; manage rapid response and code teams as needed.
• Perform wound care, including Wound Vac management; provide feeding tube care and manage multiple lines and catheters.
• Float within scope across departments and facilities as required; adapt to various patient needs and surgical specialties.
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with PPE and isolation precautions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of Kansas or Missouri, or pending licensure accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units within the past 12 months.
• BLS certification required; NIH certification preferred.
• Proficiency in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and complex post-operative care.
• Ability to start and maintain IVs, manage epidural analgesia, PCA, and various surgical drains.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, with flexibility to float between units as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with bariatric, urology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, trauma, and surgical oncology patients.
• Familiarity with complex wound care, including wound vac and serial debridement management.
• Knowledge of multiple line and drain management, including PICC, G-tubes, J-tubes, and chest tubes.
