Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care on a 42-bed medical respiratory unit, specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during daily rounds for comprehensive patient management.
- Float to other units and hospitals as needed, providing flexible coverage across different departments.
- Deliver care to patients with respiratory issues such as pneumonia, COPD, and lung diseases, as well as general medical conditions including GI, diabetes, stroke, and surgical patients.
- Support the 8-bed respiratory step-down unit with a higher nursing ratio of 1:4.
- Adhere to unit protocols, including holiday shifts and every other weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Valid State of Alabama or Compact Registered Nurse license (no temporary licenses accepted).
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS or Red Cross certification.
- Minimum of 18 months of recent experience in a related specialty, with at least 1 year in the field of respiratory or medical surgical nursing.
- At least 2 years of total nursing experience preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a hospital setting on a medical surgical or telemetry unit.
- Comfort with EMR systems, specifically Meditech.
- Ability to float between units and adapt to various patient care scenarios.

Additional Details
- Shifts: 12-hour days, starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 7:00 PM
- Duration: 13 weeks, with an immediate projected start date around May 4, 2026.
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Parking available on-site.
- Scrub dress code: solid navy.
- Timesheet approval by designated supervisor.
- This position is patient-facing and requires a clinical skill set.
