Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation

Location: Peoria, IL

Schedule / Job Type: Nights, 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient nursing care on the Acute Rehab Unit, supporting patients with neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical conditions.
• Titrate and monitor patient heparin drips as needed; read strips but do not supervise titration of other drips.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members during scheduled team conferences.
• Follow unit protocols including night CPAP/Bipap management and maintaining appropriate patient ratios.
• Adhere to unit-specific documentation and learning requirements, including QRP training and rehab-specific procedures.
• Care for a diverse caseload, ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong neuro-focused skills and experience with complex medical cases.
• Ability to read telemetry strips; telemonitoring skills are a plus.
• Must understand and comply with OSF policies, including drug-free campus and negative drug screening requirements.
• Last four digits of SSN and middle initial required for submission.
• Availability for scheduled night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in inpatient rehabilitation or acute neuro units.
• Experience with neuro, neurosurgery, trauma, or cardiac patient populations.
• Ability to float to long-term acute care or medical-surgical units as needed.
• Comfortable working with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
