- Contract / Full-time (13-week assignment) / 40 hours per week / Day shifts (hours vary according to OR schedule, with potential on-call hours) / No shift rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Day Surgery areas to ensure smooth surgical operations
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and aseptic conditions in assigned areas following department procedures
- Prepare and organize equipment and supplies needed for surgical procedures
- Assist OR staff with setup and breakdown of surgical instruments and supplies
- Perform clerical or administrative duties related to the surgical department as assigned
- Follow all safety and sterile techniques to ensure patient and staff safety
Required Qualifications
- Current certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)
- Valid WA state surgical technologist license
- BLS certification
- Minimum of one year of hospital surgical experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Successful completion of Surgical Technologist training or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under stress and adapt to changing schedules
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, pull 50 pounds, and push a stretcher for 300 feet
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience working with a variety of physicians and surgical teams
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in fast-paced environments
