• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to ICU patients in a unit with 8 beds and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3.
• Manage patients with diagnoses such as respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions.
• Titrate and monitor drips including sedation, vasopressors, insulin, and other titratable infusions, ensuring patient stability.
• Utilize advanced skills in PEG tube care, CVC/PICC/Midline maintenance, and ventilated patient management.
• Collaborate with On-site Respiratory Therapists and Tele-health physicians, providing troubleshooting and direct patient care.
• Follow hospital protocols, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient monitoring via Phillips telemetry systems.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or confirmation that licensure is in process.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience caring for ventilated, sedated, and critically ill patients, including titration of drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, and others.
• Knowledge of PEG tube, CVC/PICC/Midline, and tracheostomy patient care.
• Ability to read telemetry strips and respond to patient needs independently.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience with vent management and critical care procedures.
• Comfort with troubleshooting ICU equipment including ventilators, BiPaps, and high-flow oxygen devices.
• Experience with the use of telemetry monitors and scoring systems for critically ill patients.
