Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities.
- Deliver treatments according to an established plan of care, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Record treatments provided and note patient progress in medical records.
- Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Complete all required documentation in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education).
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Empathy and patience when working with patients.
- Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience working in a healthcare or residential facility setting.
- Familiarity with documentation and regulatory requirements specific to physical therapy.
