Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality, compassionate cardiac surgery nursing care while maintaining professional standards.
• Circulate during cardiovascular surgical procedures and assist with unit coverage as needed.
• Supervise and support LPNs, PCAs, US Techs, Orthopedic Techs, and other non-licensed staff.
• Coordinate patient care and foster positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Ensure adherence to standards of nursing practice and maintain a safe care environment.
• Support unit team members through leadership and delegation.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
• Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a Compact state (no temporary licenses accepted).
• AHA BLS certification.
• AHA ACLS or Red Cross certification.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiovascular surgery nursing, with a minimum of 18 months working under a licensed professional.
• 2 years total nursing experience preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
• Ability to float to other units and hospitals as required.
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system.
