Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized care to cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemakers, or defibrillators.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage cardiac dysrhythmias, and administer cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care and ensure safety, utilizing systems like Epic and Pyxis.
• Adhere to staffing ratios of approximately 1:5-6 and comply with unit-specific policies including orientation, floating, and holiday coverage.
• Complete 36 hours of orientation before start, with possible support for 48-hour shifts, and maintain compliance with travel regulations and testing requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid NC or Compact state nursing license (must be in hand at start).
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Comfortable with cardiac drips and dysrhythmia management.
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience working in a hospital telemetry unit with varied patient diagnoses.
• Familiarity with Epic charting and proper documentation procedures.
• Able to float within hospital or affiliate units as needed.
