Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Record treatments administered and note patient progress in medical records.
- Evaluate, plan, and implement treatment plans to improve or restore resident functionality and relieve pain.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment methods and progress.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust as necessary in accordance with established care plans.
- Complete all required documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Empathy, patience, and physical stamina to support patient mobility and exercises.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience working in a clinical or long-term care setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of facility-specific policies and procedures.
