Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant
Location:
West Memphis, AR
Schedule / Job Type:
Full-time, daytime shifts, 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Record treatments and note patient progress in medical records accurately.
- Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with disabilities to relieve pain, improve function, and promote healing.
- Ensure all treatments are delivered according to established care plans.
- Support and educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment procedures.
- Monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust care as needed.
- Complete documentation following applicable policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Empathy, patience, and physical stamina to assist with patient movement and exercises.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Previous experience working with diverse patient populations (nice to have).
- Knowledge of documentation standards and regulatory requirements (preferred).
