Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting all interventions accurately.
- Ensure timely, patient-centered, and efficient recovery care following surgical or procedural interventions.
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in the clinical setting.
- Complete patient education and competency testing specific to PACU procedures and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing license issued by the State of New Mexico or a Compact State with active licensure.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- Must pass the basic cardiac arrhythmias (BCA) test within the first week of assignment.
- At least two years of current experience in a specialty area, with a minimum of one 13-week travel assignment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic health records system experience (training available).
- Previous PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
