Schedule / Job Type

• Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (Night shift: 19:00 - 07:00, 3x12 hours)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Progressive Care Medicine Unit, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting findings in the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float within scope as needed, assisting other units if required.
• Complete mandatory modules during orientation, including specialty-specific training.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including the veteran’s natural nail policy and infection control procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia or a compact state.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• EPIC charting experience is required.
• Ability to work night shifts with 12-hour availability.
• Successful completion of background screening and fingerprinting as per Virginia regulations (results required prior to start).
• Must provide at least two references.
• SSN, DOB, and documentation of travel compliance (SSNDOB, RTO, etc.) at submission.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units.
• Knowledge of the VA healthcare system and policies.
