Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting approaches as necessary
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Required Qualifications
- Valid Georgia state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Strong understanding of appropriate instructional methodologies for special education
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a school setting serving diverse learners
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and interventions for students with disabilities
