Key Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Maintain sterile field and ensure compliance with safety protocols during surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Adhere to unit policies and procedures, including equipment and technology use.
- Support various surgical specialties excluding CVOR, neuro, and transplants, focusing on orthopedic and joint procedures.
- Demonstrate flexibility with shift hours, including call as required, and work as a team player in a high-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical experience.
- Basic knowledge of EMR systems (specifically Meditech preferred).
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts with flexibility for day/evening hours and call.
- Experience working in orthopedic/joint surgeries and trauma settings.
- Certification in NBSTA and DORA.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Level I trauma experience.
- Experience with a wide variety of surgical procedures excluding CVOR, neuro, and transplants.
- Prior work in fast-paced surgical units with high accountability standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
