Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with medical diagnoses including GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, osteomyelitis, DVT, pulmonary embolisms, and post-surgical care.
• Titrate and manage Heparin drips and other titratable infusions as needed.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, crisis RNs, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and safety.
• Document patient progress, monitor telemetry, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and updates in compliance with hospital policies.
• Participate in unit orientation and utilize resources such as inpatient phlebotomy for blood draws.

Required Qualifications

• Valid IL RN licensure or active application in process.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum last four digits of SSN and middle initial for submission.
• Ability to provide negative drug screen results.
• Understanding of OSF policy including drug-free campus and call-off procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting.
• Ability to titrate IV drips, specifically Heparin.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring systems and remote monitor reading.
• Familiarity with ERIC or similar hospital information systems.
