Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Alexandria, LA

Schedule / Job Type: Full-Time, Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide routine and complex nursing care to high-acuity emergency room patients, including assessments, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Manage a heavy caseload, including strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases.
• Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medication administration, and care processes accurately.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Make appropriate clinical decisions independently while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Valid Blue Card (if required by institution).
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in emergency or high-acuity care settings.
• Ability to handle complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs.
