Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Title

• Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (1Y / 1st Timer)

Schedule / Job Type

• Day shift, full-time, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Float between Medical Surgical units as needed, providing patient care within the specified ratio of 1:5
• Adhere to hospital protocols, including Epic Hardstop procedures
• Comply with dress code standards for licensed staff and unlicensed personnel
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during assigned shifts
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Participate in required hospital and department protocols, including holiday shifts and on-call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid state RN license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a medical surgical setting
• Experience with Epic EHR systems, including Hardstop procedures
• Ability to work scheduled holidays and comply with scheduling requests
• Must be willing to float between units and sister facilities as needed
• Clear background with no Nursys or background hit restrictions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Level II Trauma Center or acute care hospital
• Familiarity with hospital policies related to staffing, on-call, and float requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
