- Full-time, hospital-based, night and weekend shifts, on-call requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform a comprehensive range of complex laboratory tests, including high-complexity CLIA-defined testing.
- Evaluate, interpret, and ensure the accuracy of test results; troubleshoot technical issues and resolve discrepancies.
- Formulate and review laboratory procedures in CLSI format, maintaining compliance with CAP and CLIA standards.
- Establish and oversee quality control programs, monitoring analytical performance throughout testing processes.
- Train new staff, supervise daily operations, and assist in evaluating staff competency and process improvement activities.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure proper inventory levels, and prepare the laboratory for regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
- Valid certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (AMT), or equivalent credential.
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive clinical laboratory experience or internship post-degree.
- ASCP or AMT certification required at the time of submission.
- Flu vaccine required for employment.
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population across all age groups.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of LIS operation and laboratory software applications.
- Experience in microbiology, transfusion medicine, molecular biology, or infectious disease testing.
- Familiarity with CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaborative skills.
