Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an IMC/PCU/Med-Surg setting with an average census of 8 patients across a 12-bed unit with additional ICU rooms

• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Levophed, Cardizem, Dobutamine, and other vasoactive/pressor medications as appropriate to unit level

• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips, as remote tele monitoring is supported but RNs are responsible for strip interpretation

• Participate in team nursing model alongside LPN staff, managing a combined patient load in accordance with unit ratios

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation using the facility's electronic health record system

• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to help fill gaps in permanent staffing, including potential charge nurse responsibilities and floating to other areas such as the ED

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing

• Minimum of 1 year of PCU experience (Med-Surg Telemetry experience alone is not sufficient) or prior ICU experience

• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required

• Ability to titrate drips and manage higher-acuity patients at the IMC/PCU and ICU level

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating to or supporting emergency department workflows

• Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers will also be considered

• Comfort stepping into a charge nurse role when needed
