- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients, including premature infants and surgical cases
- Monitor and manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and advanced medical equipment such as Tecotherm, BCPAP, and Servo Ventilators
- Administer medications and treatments like nitric oxide therapy, hypothermia protocols, and neonatal-specific procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care plans and interventions
- Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (EPIC) and follow hospital protocols
- Support patient and family education regarding NICU procedures and care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU (ICN) setting
- Current NC or Compact RN license, in hand at start date
- BLS and NRP certifications
- Ventilator management experience is required
- Ability to work independently and adapt to high-acuity neonatal care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with infants as low as 22 weeks gestation
- Familiarity with advanced NICU procedures like therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide administration, and use of specialized equipment (e.g., Alaris IV pumps, Giraffe incubators)
- Previous travel nurse experience in NICU settings is a plus
- Flexibility to float within NICU and related units such as Peds/PICU and nursery
