Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Post Surgical unit, following the nursing process.
• Assess patients upon admission and throughout their stay, involving patients and caregivers in care planning.
• Administer IV medications, IV therapy, blood, and blood components in compliance with clinical standards and hospital policies.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while monitoring for any changes in condition.
• Demonstrate competency in the application of restraints, seclusion, and patient monitoring as required.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and update individualized care plans.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Maine.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
• Competency in restraint application and patient seclusion procedures.
• Must not be a previous employee of the facility.
• No active actions or hits on background checks or license.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or post-surgical setting.
• Experience with post-operative patient care preferred.
