Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 8-Hour Shifts, 5 Days per Week (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center specializing in ENT and ophthalmology procedures across 6 operating rooms
• Scrub and circulate for ENT surgical cases including endoscopic sinus procedures, tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, stapedectomy, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, laryngectomy, radical neck dissection, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and tracheostomy
• Provide care for pediatric ENT cases including myringotomy with tubes and tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy
• Respond to emergency situations including code response, malignant hyperthermia, latex allergy events, and fire safety protocols
• Perform accurate specimen handling and labeling, and adhere to Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
• Deliver patient-centered care across a broad age range including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience; first-time travelers considered if candidate can scrub and demonstrates strong ENT experience
• Proficiency scrubbing ENT surgery cases in an ambulatory OR setting
• Experience with pediatric ENT surgical cases
• Competency in emergency management protocols including code response, malignant hyperthermia, latex allergy, and fire safety
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system and SBAR communication
• Active BLS certification; NC RN license or compact license required (pending licensure accepted for submission)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in pediatric general OR setting
• Ophthalmology surgical experience including cataract extraction/implant, corneal transplant, glaucoma surgery, vitrectomy, and eye trauma; scrubbing ophthalmology cases preferred
• Bronchoscopy and endoscopic procedure experience
• Familiarity with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, infection control practices, and laser safety protocols
