Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups in a high-volume Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center environment
- Manage a patient caseload with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver timely and effective emergency care
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using the facility's EMR system
- Float to other units and facilities as needed based on staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable in NURSYS
- AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and AHA PALS certifications (or Red Cross equivalents)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Minimum of 18 months of RN experience with at least 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Experience working in a high-volume trauma or stroke center setting
