Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU/Med-Surg Telemetry unit with a patient population that includes COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, PE, and patients with comorbidities
• Manage and monitor patients on telemetry, interpreting and responding to dysrhythmias
• Care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and chronic trach/vent support, with no more than one ventilator patient per nurse
• Administer and manage drips including Dopamine, Cardizem, and Heparin; manage chest tubes and IV access
• Float to like units within the facility as required by unit needs
• Utilize electronic systems including Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and medication management

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, and CPAP/BiPAP management
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
• Availability to work every other weekend and up to 2 of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification
• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
