Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Key Responsibilities

• Treat and educate patients across all age groups with diagnoses including asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and non-pulmonary conditions
• Perform general and critical care respiratory therapy including medication delivery, bronchopulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, and airway management
• Initiate, manage, and wean patients from invasive and non-invasive ventilation; assist with intubation and perform extubation
• Respond to rapid response calls and emergency codes; perform CPR and conduct blood gas sampling and analysis
• Assist with pediatric patients including Peds ER; provide basic pediatric respiratory therapy care across all age groups
• Float as needed within the metro region between assigned campuses to fulfill guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license — must be in hand at time of submission
• NRP certification required prior to start date
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience
• Experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records

Preferred Experience / Skills

• High-risk respiratory therapy experience; candidates without high-risk experience must be open to on-site training
• Experience with pediatric patient populations in a hospital setting
• Familiarity with ventilator equipment including Servo I, Avea, and Bella Vista
• Experience with invasive and arterial line tubing and bag changes
